What is so unique about HOTELSERV and what makes it different from other solutions?
HOTELSERV manages most of the various IT systems used in hotels in hotel rooms not just in one solution but also in a single device. The HOTELSERV components are simultaneously:
- the television and the radio in the hotel room, of course including a sleep timer and alarm function
- the CD player and DVD player in the hotel room, which can of course also be extended to include an on-demand offering and a music library
- direct access to the Internet in the hotel room, including e-mail, including value-added web

How much will I earn with HOTELSERV?
The use of a HOTELSERV solution does not "cost" money, but usually "generates" a profit. HOTELSERV opens up various sources of income, including
Video on Demand
According to customary valid revenue sharing models, the hotel receives a commission from video on demand revenue, the majority of which goes to the media company licensing the content, such as the movie bank.
Pay-TV
All leading Pay-TV providers can be integrated into HOTELSERV's Full-HD IP TV component. Based on revenue sharing models, parts of such Pay TV revenue are also returned as income to the hotel.
Pay-WLAN
Various ticketing models allow the WLAN component to be set up so that guests are charged for use. Parts of these charges are additional hotel income.
Advertising
The HOTELSERV solution may include partner advertising (such as in the form of logos, banners, claims, but also third-party contents). The hotel generates revenue from providing such advertising reach.
HOTELSERV Shop / Guest Information System
HOTELSERV directly leads to increased turnover since services of both the hotel (such as from the sources F & B, spa / wellness, entertainment and service) and of third parties (such as partners of the hotel in the fields recreation, sports and culture) are not only presented in the room, but even directly offered for sale. Additional profits are generated both from hotel-own services and from partners' commissions.
Generic HOTELSERV Features
HOTELSERV generates profits for the hotel from its own features. Such an example is the "postcard feature." Guests can generate finished postcards showing their own holiday images including address and greetings, which will then be printed out at the front desk and which is then sent by post.
At the same time, HOTELSERV represents an investment which is composed of initial and ongoing costs. The initial services include among others

The total of the investment depends mainly on 6 factors:
- The choice between HOTELSERV First or HOTELSERV Premium
- The inclusion or exclusion of supplementary HOTELSERV components, such as kiosk systems and WLAN solutions for public areas or Digital Signage solutions
- The financial ratios and technical features of the hotel, such as number of rooms, cabling, PMS used and to be connected to HOTELSERV etc
- The desired specific design of the functional details of the individual HOTELSERV features, ie the degree of individualisation
- The choice of desired HOTELSERV hardware in the rooms, eg, iMac 21.5" or 27" or Mac mini including or excluding TFT monitors
- The financing term determines the costs of financing, such as 36, 48 or 60 months
An "average" individualised HOTELSERV Premium solution
- for a number of 100 rooms,
- on the basis of 27" iMacs,
- including video on demand,
- and a presumed financing term of 5 years at 8% interest,

- upon the availability of all technical requirements,

This assumption is based on an ROI calculated according to the experience gained in numerous internationally operating DirectStreams solutions.
What financing options does HOTELSERV offer?
HSD Consult and HOTELSERV basically offer everything in the area of the modern financing business.
From traditional full amortisation leasing and cancellable leasing to modern operating leasing through to hire purchase and further individual requests, such as seasonal instalments.
Subject to the usual credit check, HOTELSERV can also react to changes in your business plan in a flexible manner.

For which customers is HOTELSERV intended?
HOTELSERV is mainly aimed at the hotel industry, in particular at the chain hotel segment, as well as to individual hotels in the upper 3-star segment and upwards.
Target groups for HOTELSERV, however, are also areas related to the hotel business, such as health & care, retirement homes and senior residences, and the cruise segment.
HOTELSERV solutions can be used in each phase of the life cycle of a hotel.
Ideally, HOTELSERV should already be involved at the project planning stage because then technical requirements can be taken into account in advance and the hotel marketing and general hotel positioning can get the maximum benefit out of HOTELSERV.
These advantages also apply in case of remodelling or expansion projects.
HOTELSERV can work in two ways in existing hotels: On the one hand, if outdated technology in the hotel rooms is to be replaced and extended in a functional manner. On the other hand, if the hotel wants to tread a path to new position, differentiation or finding target groups in order to deal with the tough competition.
What are the requirements of HOTELSERV?
HOTELSERV recommends network cabling (minimum: CAT5) for smooth data flow. Subject to a technical inspection, HOTELSERV can, however, also be used with the available internal telephone cabling or coaxial cabling.
For HOTELSERV to operate in a secure and stable manner, a separate room should be available for the HOTELSERV server components, which will ideally have active cooling.
Ideally, a service room for will be accessible for network components on each floor.
The hotel rooms are already equipped with LCD televisions, can I still use HOTELSERV?
Of course, because in addition to the all-in-one iMac solution, it is also possible to connect Mac minis to all current televisions, depending on the how the TV is equipped and the kind of TV. In this way, you can keep your TV and there no extra costs.
Which PMS systems is HOTELSERV compatible with?
HOTELSERV can be connected to FIAS-compatible solutions and can therefore be used from the start with most PMS systems e.g. Fidelio, Amadeus, Protel, ProLogic etc.
If you have doubts nevertheless, HOTELSERV will support you in selecting the right PMS.
HOTELSERV - Legal Issues & Security?
HOTELSERV deals with all legal questions that may come up during the use of the solution. As a result, the clarification and professional technical implementation of legal topics such as data security and protection, Internet provider status, film rental and presentation, execution of general terms and conditions of business, as well as the necessary, legally binding guest information and confirmations are a component of the HOTELSERV solution.
