HOTELSERV is a design-oriented and innovative all-in-one multimedia solution for the hospitality industry.
The latest technologies from Apple and DirectStreams are used to turn the hotel room into a room full of digital experiences.
The Technology
HOTELSERV and DirectStreams – the Most Modern Technology for a Digital Revolution.
There are now hardly any barriers on continuous digital progress and whatever is up-to-date today may already have been surpassed tomorrow. DirectStream’s intelligent "DSID" software solution is not only always in line with the current standards, it is also often the proverbial one step ahead.
“DirectStreams In-Room Digital Solution“, “DSID“ for short, is the technical core of HOTELSERV.
In order to guarantee the functionality of HOTELSERV, a few technical requirements are necessary, such as suitable cabling. For this purpose, HOTELSERV recommends network cabling (minimum: CAT5) for smooth data flow. Subject to a technical inspection, HOTELSERV can, however, also be used with the available internal telephone cabling or coaxial cabling.
In case of technical questions, HOTELSERV will not leave you out in the cold. HOTELSERV checklists and lists of questions can be used to check the conditions in place and to determine the right HOTELSERV package for you.
You can also make use of our HOTELSERV advance check, during which HOTELSERV checks all parameters itself at your location. In the unusual case that these inspections show that not all of the requirements for the use of HOTELSERV are met, HOTELSERV will create an individual solution offering for you and will also ensure professional implementation of the solution.

1. Network Operating Center (NOC)
The digital content delivered to the hotel can be altered, adapted, extended and/or replaced at the click of a mouse using a clear, easy to operate administrative interface. You can manage data, which is to be updated on a daily basis (prices, internal information, etc.), while HOTELSERV will provide you with support at any time in making more complex changes.
The NOC is therefore a central monitoring location, which monitors HOTELSERV hardware and software components at all times.

2. The Local Server Structure in your Hotel
In the IT environment too, there must always be a component that assumes responsibility for the tasks of supply, monitoring and control. A major component of HOTELSERV is therefore the local multimedia server (LMS). This is both an inspection facility for all installed end devices in the hotel, as well as a constant provider of necessary data to the NOC. Above all, however, it ensures a constant and high-performance provision of the digital content – such as interactive services, TV, video, or music on demand, and all that in real time.

3. The High-Performance Ultimate All in One Apple iMac or Small Apple Mac Mini
You can present your guests with the HOTELSERV world in either of two different versions. If you wish to benefit from the simplicity of really having everything combined in one device, then the Apple iMac is the right choice for you. With sizes 21.5" and 27" available, it brings all of the HOTELSERV features directly to the guest in the hotel room.
Is 27" not big enough for you? No problem, combine a small and large piece of equipment and offer your guests the atmosphere of a cinema. Apple’s smallest computer makes this possible. Connect the Mac mini to displays of any size of your choice. Whether it is a 32", 42" or even 55" display, the combination of Mac mini and an external TV will offer your guests a unique experience.

Detailed Overview:
HOTELSERV uses the NOC to adapt the desired content and shares it via a direct connection to the local multimedia server (LMS). The LMS updates the content in real time on the end devices in the guest rooms, thus ensuring that your guests always have the most up-to-date HOTELSERV feature selection that you want to make available.
Technology Architecture:

HOTELSERV and the Environment - Green IT
Environmental protection is of the highest priority with regard to preserving valuable natural resources and keeping the ecosystem of our planet intact. Apple is a global company and is aware of its environmental responsibilities. We therefore have a long-term commitment to reducing the effects of our activities and products on the environment.
Innovative and Efficient

At Apple, we are convinced that our environmental responsibility begins as early as during the designing of products. We set high standards and in doing so focus on our own requirements and the benchmarks set by programs such as ENERGY STAR®. In doing so, we focus on developing products that are particularly harmless to the environment throughout their entire life cycle. |
Energy Efficiency
Apple products are intended not only to work in a high-performance way either in the office or at home, but also to be particularly energy efficient. This aspect is taken in to consideration as early as the product development stage. A higher level of energy efficiency means lower energy costs and protects valuable natural raw materials.
Recycling

For a long time, Apple has been an advocate of product responsibility and in our opinion this concept also includes the professional disposal of electronic devices at the end of their useful lives. |
